Peace and Order
The peace and order situation in the province is carried out through the mandate of the Philippine National Police (PNP). The task of the PNP is to secure the internal peace and order situation. The PNP is closely monitoring and coordinating with the Provincial Government and the people on how to control crimes in the province.
The standard ratio of population to police force is 1:500 for urban municipalities and cities and 1:1000 for rural municipalities. As of date Quezon has a total police force of 1,381 as compared to its present population of 1,679,030.
As of fourth quarter of 2001, the province has a total of crime volume of 497, and a crime solution efficiency rate of 92.35% one of the highest in Region IV. The same period also indicated in the Statwatch 2001, there were also 8 incidence of fire and a total damage amounting to P13,400,000.00. |
