The province of Quezon has a total of 260,031 occupied housing units in 1990 to 265,762 households giving a ratio of 1.022 households per housing unit.

A large number of the housing units were built of cogon, nipa or anahaw both for roofing (49.6%) and for outer walls (44.8%). Nevertheless, the proportion of housing units that do not need repair, or need minor repair, is still high at 70.4%.

Majority (64.9) of the housing units are of recent construction, those built after 1980.

Census results also show that 67.7% of the housing units in Quezon are with limited floor area of less than 30 square meters. About 20.6% measure 30-69 square meters while 11.7% are spacious units (70 square meters and over).

Of the 265,762 households in the province, 82.3% own their housing units, 37.5% of which also own the lot where the unit is erected.

Among those who own their housing units, 95.4% constructed their houses from their own resources; 1.1% with funds from government financing schemes; and 2.3% through private persons or banks.
