Veterinary Medical Mission at Unisan, Quezon last Oct. 17, Wednesday. (Quezon OPV/Quezon PIO)
As a continuing service of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian with the aim of propelling Quezon Province into a center for livestock industry, and in turn protecting the animal population against diseases, as a part of aprovince-wide, year-long Veterinary Medical Mission, a mobile consultation and treatment clinic was set up at Unisan, Quezon last October 17, 2012.
The OPV Vet-Medical Mission team headed by Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Gerald C. Montierro, and Mr. Rodelito M. Pamular who stood as team leader, prepared vaccines and other medicines to be used in the mobile clinic set at the vicinity of the Unisan municipal hall.
Dog owners arrived with their pets to avail of the free immunization against rabies. Also provided for those who came are animal consultations, antibiotics, vitamins, and dewormers for livestock such as cattle, carabao, horses, goats, and poultry.
The team has accomplished servicing 275 dogs, 55 cattle and carabaos, 1,498 chickens, 20 goats, 70 hogs, and 32 horses. In total, 1,950 animals from 132 clients were given treatment.
The OPV used over 140 vials of Rabisin, 75 vials of Ivermectin (30ml), 60 vials of of B-Complex (30ml).(Quezon OPV/ Quezon PIO)
