The 2011 Consumer Welfare Month was celebrated by the Department of Trade and Industry by holding an On-the-Spot-Poster Making Contest on October 6, 2011, 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 n.n. at the McDonalds-Quezon Avenue Branch, Lucena City with the theme “Sapat, Ligtas at Abot-kayang Pagkain para sa Lahat” with Mr. Pablito C. Budoy as the Master of Ceremony.
The registration started at 7:00 in the morning and immediately proceeded with the program proper. Ms. Richelda D. Vergara, Head Manager of McDonalds-Quezon Avenue Branch gave the welcoming remarks while Mrs. Marcelina S. Alcantara delivered her message to all those who are present. Mrs. Leila M. Cabreros, Division Chief of BRCWD introduced the contestants and gave the briefing on Mechanics/Guidelines of the Contest. Afterwards, the contest proper carried on which was participated in by students from Manuel S. Enverga University, International School for Better Beginnings, Philippine Tong Ho Institute, Quezon National High School, Dalahican National High School, Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc., Sacred Heart College, and Maryhill College.
The winners were announced at around 11:30 in the morning. Arvee D. Lao of QNHS got the 3rd place, Klyde Elaine O. Glorioso of CEFI got the 2nd place, and Maria Elyssa Pia A. Razo of PTHI got the 1st place with their respective coaches namely: Pedro J. Dichoso, Joselito Ayag, and Maria Jezzel C. Nada. Certificates were awarded to all participants while cash prizes and trophies were given to the contest winners.
