QSHS Students to Represent CALABARZON in National Science Quest

Five students from Quezon Science High School (QSHS) will compete as the official representatives of Region IV-A CALABARZON in the National Science Quest on February 10-12, 2014, Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City.

Spearheaded by the Association of Science Educators of the Philippines (ASEP), the National Science Quest is bent on promoting academic excellence in science and technology.

Joining the nationwide competition are Christine Loui V. Araña, the 1st place winner in the Essay Writing category, and Elmer Christian Angelo Merto who placed 2nd in the Quiz Bee category in the Regional Science Quest held last November 16-17, 2013 at Antipolo National High School.

Meanwhile, the QSHS team led by Earl Etchel I. Caraga, Raniel A. Parco, and Amreed A. Lingcoran will compete with their Science Investigatory Project (SIP) titled “Gas Leak Ignition Prevention Device,” which bagged 3rd place in SIP-Applied Team category in the DepEd Regional Science and Technology Fair held last October 4-5, 2013 in Morong National High School, Rizal.

QSHS is the premiere science hub which offers specialized curriculum in Mathematics and Science to Quezon Province’s future scientists and leaders for free. (Quezon PIO)
