Coconut farmers and fisher folk cooperatives from the towns of Quezon’s third and fourth districts receive projects under Serbisyong Suarez for Agriculture this March 23, 2013.
According to Quezon Governor David “Jayjay” C. Suarez, the provincial government continues to provide farmers and fishermen with programs and projects aimed to support their livelihood and uplift their lives.One such program is the Farmers’ Productivity Enhancement Program or FEPP which will give farmers agriculture inputs, equipment, as well as subsidies form Serbisyong Suarez for Agriculture.
Gov. Suarez personally led the distribution of certificates of award for adopt-a-reef fish cages and salt fertilizers to the participants in the Technical Awareness on Scale Insect Infesting Coconut seminar held at the municipal covered court of Gumaca, Quezon.
Farm equipment were also distributed under theAgrarian Reform Community Connectivity and Economic Support Services (ARCESS) Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in two organizations in Lopez, Quezon.
MASSCO Farmers Marketing Cooperative received two hand tractors with implements, a mini thresher, and a blower. For Samahang Mag-iimpok, a decorticating machine, a fiber peat dryer, a baling machine, a twining machine, and a carding machine was provided.
Senior Board Member Romano Talaga, Board Member Manny Butardo, Board Member Gerald Ortiz, Lopez Mayor Sonny Ubana and members of the municipal council of Lopez, Quezon were present during the activities. (Quezon PIO)
