Tayabas, City once again received recognition for their rural health unit’s outstanding performance among other municipalities in the province, according to the scorecard released by the Department of Health. Trailing after it are the towns of Atimonan and Pagbilao, which were given awards along with Tayabas during the Provincial Health Summit, held recently at Queen Margarette Hotel, in Lucena City.

The municipality of Perez also received a special award during the event, for their 97% coverage of fully immunized children.

16 hospitals from all over the province are also entitled to receive refrigerators, to be used for storing vaccines, 19 computer units, and 21 checks amounting to 200,000 pesos each. An additional 1 million is granted to the town of Burdeos for a project to bring clean water to the residents of the area.

According to Quezon Governor David “Jayjay” C. Suarez, he assured that whatever are the needs of the hospitals and health centers in Quezon, the Provincial Government will give its 100% to provide it. He also seized the occasion to ask of the employees of the provincial health centers to pay forward the help they received by providing good quality service to the citizens of Quezon. The good father of the province aims to have all public health providers comply with his memo forbidding doctors and nurses from reprimanding and disrespecting patients, and instead encouraging them to provide service with a smile.
