The Aboitiz Foundation formally turned over more than 200 books and laboratory equipment to the scholars of Quezon Science High School (QSHS) last July 23 at the school building itself in Brgy. Isabang, Tayabas City.

The agreement between the donor, Aboitiz Foundation, and the Provincial Government of Quezon stipulating the latter’s acceptance of the donation was signed in front of the students of QSHS.

In the message of Webster Letargo, Chief of Staff and representative of Quezon Governor David “Jayjay” C. Suarez, he said that the Aboitiz Foundation will continue to give donations to QSHS year after year, and will also take it upon themselves to complete the other equipments necessary for the school’s laboratory. Letargo also added that Gov. Suarez wanted to extend his gratitude to the Aboitiz Foundation for its donation to QSHS and its students. According Letargo, the governor said that the best investment for the future anyone could make is to educate the youth.

The educational programs remain to be one of the priorities of Gov. Suarez and the Provincial Government, that is why they aim for more young people to be able to access education and finish schooling, as well as to improve the quality and level of education here in the province of Quezon.

In the words of Aboitiz Foundation’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Benjamin A. Cariaso, the province of Quezon, particularly QSHS can count on the foundation’s support, just as it supports the scholars studying in Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) in Lucban, Quezon.

The Quezon Science High School is made up of 91 students, 44 in Grade 7 and 47 in Grade 8, coming from different towns throughout the province.

The said event was attended by the officials of the Aboitiz Foundation, headed by their FVP TLI Mr. Charles A. Gamo, EVP and COO TLI Mr. Benjamin A. Cariaso, as well as School Division Superintendent Dr. Tolentino Aquino, OIC Director OSHS EPS-Science Secondary Ms. Carmela Ezcel A. Orogo, President General PTA Dr. Antonio Leon C.
