Pompano
(Trachinotus blochii)- A warm- water schooling fish. Tolerates a wide range of salinities (5-35ppt) and has a high initial growth rate. Readily accepts palletized feeds. Attains 400g in 6-7 month from 10g and usually has high survival rate of 85-100% in cages
Lapu- Lapu
(Epinephelus Coioides)- also known as grouper. Considered as high value species that is esteemed for its excellent flesh, texture and flavor. It is a common live fish fare served in Chinese Restaurants. A good export commodity. Carnivorous and voracious feeder. Grouper can be trained to feed on formulated feeds. Considered as demersal Fishes, preferably dwells at the bottom of ponds, pens & cages. Thrives in brackish and marine water.
Apahap
(Lates Calcarifer) – known as seabass in English and Barramundi in Australia. Considered as a high value fish. Farmed commercially in Southeast Asia and Australia. Culture systems include ponds, coastal impoundments, cages and tanks. Growth rate depends on stocking density, temperature and feed quality. In cages, seabass achieves an A ABW of 400- 600g in five months from an initial length of 3- 4 inches (15-30g) at a stocking density of 10-20 pcs./m2. can also be polycultured with milkfish and tilapia, groupers, shrimps and snappers.
Danggit
(Siganus sp.)- referred to as rabbit fish in English and is an excellent food fish. Generally tolerant of wide salinity changes. Capable of adapting to reduced oxygen concentration. Attains a weight of 400g in 10 months from 20g. Stocked in cage inside the pond at stocking density of 10 pcs./m2 using palletized feeds.
