"As shown in the experience of SMEs under Quezon.gov.ph, e-business in the Philippines has been redefined. And, sometimes, the best solution is not always the most high-tech but the method that actually works and meets business goals."
--Joey Alarilla (E-Business Made Easy)
For the first time ever, The Philippine Internet Commerce Society (PICS) put together a step-by-step guide for small and medium enterprises wishing to explore the vast possibilities in the internet. Cutting through jargon, utilizing eye-catching
visuals and providing real-life examples from the Philippines, the book tackled head-on the common concerns and fears of entrepreneurs about e-business.

The book aims to help entrepreneurs find the appropriate Internet strategy for their business and learn from the experiences of other SMEs. It is envisioned to be an instructive and indispensable resource from the authority in e-commerce in the Philippines.

I am also happy to announce that the Quezon eCommerce site (www.quezon.gov.ph) figures prominently in this book as a good example of an eCommerce initiative by a local government.

This will soon be available in selected branches of "National Bookstore" and"Fully Booked". This can also be purchased via the office of PICS in makati ( info@pics.org.ph )

The official launch will be sometime mid September during the organization's general membership meeting.

Attached in this post is the front cover of the book which incidentally was endorsed by the following:

Extended trading hours is another benefit, the 24 hours a day. 7 days a week in 365 days allows business always free to open on the Internet without overtime and extra cost. Other advantages includes the up-to-date company material, current inventories, improved customers service, better customers communication, increased operating and trading flexibility
E-commerce provides customers with a platform to search product information through global markets with a wider range of choices, which makes comparison and evaluation easier and more efficient. With the ubiquity in accessing the Internet, consumers are able to search for shops or perform other transactions anytime in almost location.
For customers, the advantages occur in the buying process, product research, evaluation and execution.
